I haven’t played this meme in a long time .. today’s theme is Rocks ..

These rocks came from Cynthia’s house .. I brought Bruce over for a play date with his buddy Seamus. We had been in Maine for 7 months, and he hadn’t seen Seamus yet. It was a wonderful reunion ..

Bruce is the shaven one, Seamus is laying down, and Molson is the inspiration to why we have Golden's!

A Different way to do it!

This week I am combining two memes ... I don't know if there are official rules or not ... but here it goes!
Photohunter is brought to you by TNChick .. basically a theme is given for Saturday, post a picture about the theme ... simple! I haven't participated in a loooong time, but I thought this (past) week's theme was easy .."four" ..
The other meme is Zena Musings Sacred Life Sunday .. modified version of what makes my innerself celebrate ...

So when I hear the word four, I can't help but think of my sisters ... I don't know if it is because I always heard "four girls" ... "four daughters" ....

My sisters make my innerself celebrate! They are magnificent women ... what makes it difficult is that we literally live world's apart .. one sister in Massachusetts, one in Amsterdam and one in Manila ..... *sigh*

I have a different relationship with each one, as each one is so different from the other, yet when you put us all together we blend like oreos and ice cream! (You have no idea how long it took me to think of that!)

We were able to get together last year in Amsterdam. It was probably one of the best trips I have ever had ... it was something we needed to do .. and hope to do every year.

I was going to post pictures of dog hair everywhere, all the time, in my house! It is one of the pleasures of having a long haired Golden Retriever. Perhaps this style of grooming might help??

This was the first "real" snow storm on December 21 .. my inner child HOPEs that we'll have many more like this one .. the romantic in me says "ahh.... where's my blanket, add the wood in the woodstove and grab some wine" and then my adult-reality-serious side says " I HOPE these kind of snow storms occur on the weekends when I can take my time shoveling snow!"

On a complete side note: I HOPE to have my blog brain back soon ..
..and I HOPE to get my post up about Noah ... soon!

Photo Hunt - Breakfast

Thanks to TNChick the photohunt theme is Breakfast!

Yahoo! .. breakfast is my favorite meal of the day .. it is so versatile! There are weekends that it could be pancakes .. blueberry pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes .. waffles with strawberry and cream ... eggs and bacon .. omelets, with mmmm feta, black olives and spinach .. or scrambled eggs with salsa .. (uhh, another story different day for that one!) ..almost every morning my ever growing son (he grew another inch since September, which puts him at 5ft8 now!) he asks for an egg sandwich .. bagel with egg, bacon and cheese .... I just LOVE breakfast! (of course a good cup of coffee goes without saying.) Of course not everyone in the family can agree on one particular combination, one wants chocolate chips in their pancakes, and the other wants blueberries .. HOWEVER .. Breakfast tacos is another story!

The whole family will agree on eating Breakfast Tacos: another Texas treat from neighbor A ... home made tortillas, scrabbled eggs .. cheese and bacon. Personally for myself I would do chorizo instead of bacon... yum, yum.

Being in Maine, we have searched high and low for fresh tortillas .. with no luck. Last week I was at the yellow smiley face store, and found whole wheat tortillas.. not the "raw" kind, but also not the generic "other" ready made tortillas .. so this morning we all decided to have breakfast tortillas .. YUM!! They came out pretty good, we decided that the tortillas were a "keeper" .. so PHEW!! we can have breakfast tortillas in Maine!!

I always think that the first room that you "wake up" in should be bright and cheerful .. so in my bathroom in Texas I had these Cali Lillies .. they are one of my favorite flower.

Of course I have to put a Maine picture in. This was taken during my excellent adventure when I went to Maine for the summer.

What lays ahead on this new ROAD ...

PhotoHunt - Road

This is a road that is being built from within our subdivision, leading out to one of the main roads. We have all been really ready for it, because the neighborhood next to us ride up our street to get in and out of our subdivision ... with this road they DO NOT need to drive up our street .. they can get on this road, and exit the subdivision.

Every day we walk on this road .. every day it changes. It reminds me of the "new road that lays ahead ..."

On either side of the road will be more homes, the fourth and final phase of the subdivision. Eventually this road will have little ones riding bikes, and parents screaming "CAR COMING ..." and "SLOW DOWN!! THIS IS A NEIGHBORHOOD"!! There will be new stories on this road ..

I have changes coming in my life .. just like this new road .. where will it take me? what will my stories be?

Today we had Ike visit Texas ...WILD .. he was almost the size of Texas .. WILD how we had just had some gusts of 30-40mph, while in other parts of Texas they were experiencing 110 mph! WILD how strong mother nature's forces can be.

Demi is still too big for her skin ... (although she has doubled in size since we adopted her) .. a frightening thought!

When this week's photo hunt was about wrinkles .. I couldn't resist:

the wrinkles I am always reminded of! (Yes, .. I should be using those $60.00, .17 ounce jar of "miracle wrinkle remover" creams! )
