Manic Monday ..

How long does it take you to get out of bed in the morning?
Hmm that depends on the day! There have been Saturday mornings where I have felt like not getting up at all because the whole rest of the week I had no choice but to get up early! Then there is THAT dog - Demi she will not allow me to sleep past 7:11 AM .. yes, not 7:15 or 7:00 ... she must have a magical clock inside .. but precisely at that time, she gets all wild and WILL NOT allow me to stay in bed.
Then there is the question of coffee ... I love coffee in bed!

Do you usually sleep on one side of the bed or another?
I like my side of the bed .. even when the other side is vacant .. I don't roam in bed!

Something you wish to accomplish before the end of the year:
PEACE AND SERENITY .... HAHAHA!

Thematic Photographic - Blur

So .. I have been on a bloggers block .. and naturally I still visit my favorite sites and once again, Tommie has given me something to post .. and hopefully get me off the silence ..

Written Inc has themed photo "ideas" .. so this week it was "Blur".. who doesn't have blurry pictures?

With an active 10 month old puppy .. blur is fairly easy ... this is during one of our walks, Demi loves to play in the sand.

Wrinkled ...

Demi is still too big for her skin ... (although she has doubled in size since we adopted her) .. a frightening thought!

When this week's photo hunt was about wrinkles .. I couldn't resist:

the wrinkles I am always reminded of! (Yes, .. I should be using those $60.00, .17 ounce jar of "miracle wrinkle remover" creams! )

Friday's Photostory

So this will be my first posting with Photostory Friday .. what a fabulous idea. I have started to enjoy doing fun photo projects .. so when I checked out tommie's blog and saw her new Friday entry .. I played copy cat! .. Actually today's blog will be more like "copy dog" ..

The rules are simple .. basically post a picture that you took, and tell the story .. well, there is ALWAYS a story here in our household .. as I was wondering what to post, I was cleaning the kitchen .. (somehow the phrase "the kitchen is closed" doesn't work anymore with teenagers ..), and at the same time I was dodging Demi, the Weimaraner. She doesn't drink water like the rest of the dogs .. instead she bites the water, and then keeps her mouth open as she walks away from her water bowl. Then she likes to come to you in shear appreciation and share the water that she hasn't swallowed yet. When my children were babies, I remember walking around with a cloth diaper for the spit ups ... I find myself keeping a paper towel close by just so that I can wipe my legs from her show of affection and appreciation! So, as I was wondering about the latest blog .. it finally came to me during a moment of aggravation .. my sister's words rang in my head "you know, she is quite ugly ...". My sister meant Demi! Demi was the latest addition about 8 weeks ago .. I sent out an email with her picture .. and my sister, the big dog lover that she is ..(NOT).. came out with "she is quite ugly!".

Weimaraners are supposed to be known for their photographic pose .. if you remember on Sesame Street .. they were always dressed up, and acted like sophisticated dogs ..

Well, what happened with Demi? "Ugly" my sister said?! Well, today I decided to try and prove her wrong ...

She tends to look like a hound dog, with her big nose ..

She still has so much skin to grow into ..

"unfair .." she barks ...

This is when I appreciate her the most ... quiet and asleep!

Did I mention we have a Golden Retriever with the name of Bruce? We didn't really plan it like that .. when we took Demi on, it was her given name! It didn't turn out well for the original Bruce and Demi .... oh dear!

Thursday 13

In keeping with the ABC ...with the first Thursday 13.. the letter W


1. the first one that came to mind: Wine .. My favorites are Rodney Strong and J Lohr .. I'm hoping with summer here we can have wine nights outside again

2. I love to Walk .. the longer, the better
3. After not having seen my mother in a couple of years, she pointed out very nicely that I have Wrinkles ... she didn't just say it once .. but quite a few times! Thanks Ma!

4. Wicked! Not in the way Merriam Webster describes it; the New England way "Wicked Good!"

5. Why? Aren't you tempted at times to just keep asking WHY?

6. Wandering Stranger by Lionel Ritchie (yes..... I admit it!)One of my most favorite songs for as long as I can remember.

7. A new addition to the family .. Demi the Weimaraner .. this is one of those times I ask "WHY?"
8. We have two Windchimes that wake me up during the night .. It's my early warning system when the weather is bad and I am wondering if we have a tornado warning.

9. Winding Mountain Roads remind me of driving in a convertible with my bf C in Vermont!


10. I love the long ceiling to floor windows we have in this house .. so does Bruce.
11. I curse at Windy days ... I learned that from my other bf J ... she hates them .. it messes up her hair ... it makes my runs harder!
12. Runner's World .. love their magazine, one of my "ahhh" moments, and their website is great too.
13. lastly ... Winters in Maine .. can't believe I am going to say it .... I miss them!

Happy Thursday! We are one day closer to Friday .. the weekend!! (Hey .. another W)
